We take children off all ages. They do not have to be experience to enroll in any of the programs. No prior sports skill is required at all. All we need is a young person with the desire, we will take that desire and help turn it into athleticism.

Yes, I know there are parts of this story, that seem just a bit childish and unnecessary.  Especially, for a professional athlete and a coach that have years of experience playing this game.  I think though, it all comes down to a question of what will players and coaches do to win.  In hindsight, it may seem like a big mistake for Minnesota to have gambled so much on one player.  But, we all know how often professional sports can be a big gamble.  There are franchise players out there, and Favre has been one in the past.  No dispute about that. How does one of the most talented NFL teams this year outperform their opponents by over a hundred yards per game in the last four games, but still end up with a record of 1-4?  Well, if you were just guessing off the top of your head, then might say things like bad luck, too many turn overs, bad reffing, or lousy timing.  But, in this particular case, your not quite right.  The Cowboys in spite of all their natural and ingrained talent are losing simply because of a lack of discipline.  And that conclusion is supported by the number of penalties they are taking.  Right now, if you look at a certain undesirable statistic, the Cowboys are on a 10 game winning streak. I can’t imagine a time in my life, when I didn’t spend a lot of time near the water.  Everywhere I’ve ever lived, has been in close proximity to some large body of water.  All my life I’ve participated in multiple activities that involved water.  At a very young age, I learned to swim on the east coast of Canada in New Brunswick.  This was long before heated pools were popular, and I can tell you from experience, that New Brunswick doesn’t exactly have hot summers. Quarterback positions can be tricky to keep filled, even at the best of times.  Even during the pre-season, one thing they’re good for is a little football news controversy. I’m sure there are some in the Philadelphia Eagles, that are more than content to Kevin Kolb as the starting quarterback for the Eagles.    Sure, Mickeal Vick has had some outstanding moments during the 2010 pre-season, but it’s important to keep the big picture in mind.  What with McNabb gone, it makes perfect sense to ensure that more than one of their major QB investments is worth the checks they’re cashing.   While Kolb has been adequate in his tenure with the Eagles, the coaching staff probably believes he’s got a bit more in him.

It makes perfect sense, give both Vick and Kolb playing time, but that’s not the same as switching to a new starting quarterback.  Giving Kolb adequate playing time early in the season is a good strategy.  It gives him the confidence that the staff believes in him, while still being keenly aware that Vick is staring over his shoulder at the starting job.  There’s nothing wrong with a little competitive motivation to help a guy get the job done.  I’m not usually into NFL football betting, but if I were I’d bet on Kolb to come into his own. And it’s not really just a case of giving the young kid his chance.  Kolb has the potential to be a franchise player for many years to come, considering he’s only 26.  If I were the staff, I’d want to know just how strong a potential he is.

I’m old enough to remember growing up in the age where what I watched on television was totally controlled by the television networks.  It wasn’t something we really thought about at the time, it’s just the way that it was.  But, over the years that control has been gradually eroded by competition, new services, and technologies.  It used to be a big deal to huddle around the television at certain times, to catch holiday specials, and movies when they were being broadcast.  But, once the home VCR came on the scene in the early eighties, all that began to change.  Now, we could record our favorite shows and watch them whenever we wanted. Scotland is renowned for its many varieties of world class fishing.  Whether you’re an amateur sportsman or a professional angler you’ll find discover countless opportunities to fish the many streams and rivers and delight yourself with a deep sea outing. Every year hundreds are drawn to Scotland in efforts to real in their share of salmon, trout and wild pike.

Salmon is the ultimate prize in Scotland and the rivers Spay and Tay, Dee and Tweed are known for producing giants upwards of 30 pounds.  The Tay River holders the recorded record of 64 pounds dating back to 1922.  While it is unlikely that you’ll lure a salmon that size today, every year fish weighing around 50 pounds are still plucked from Scotland’s waters.  Even the smaller coastal rivers Luce and Lochy, Stinchar and awe that flow along the western shore are said to occasionally produce Atlantic Salmon tipping the scales at 20 pounds or more.
