Last time Oklahoma State came to Seattle, in 1985, they were here to play the Huskies. With them was a relatively anonymous sophomore running back named Thurman Thomas. Thomas wasn’t unknown after that game–Husky defenders spent most of the afternoon watching the back of Thomas’ jersey as he ran over the Husky defense, gaining 237 yards. He even threw a fourth-quarter TD pass that gave OSU the lead.
In Oklahoma State’s return to Seattle, they once again bring a talented sophomore skill player: Wide receiver Dez Bryant.
Bryant, a Parade All-American coming out of high school, was forced into action last year as a true freshman and ended up as Oklahoma State’s second leading receiver. He’s not a burner, but he’s big (6-1, 210) and he can jump (has a 35-inch vertical, according to Rivals).
Bryant could be set up for a Thomas-like day. The Cougs’ best cover man, Markus Dawes, missed the spring with a shoulder injury, and the other starting corner, Alfonso Jackson, is new to the position after having started at safety last year.
